It’s common practice to share resolutions for the new year, but this time around, we asked our team to also consider what they’re leaving in the rearview. Here’s what’s “in” and “out” for 2025, according to the StyleBlueprint team!

OUT: Spending too much time on social media. I’ve definitely fallen victim to social comparison this year, and it’s not beneficial to my mental health. In 2025, I want to spend more time at the moment and less time “doom scrolling” and comparing myself to others.

IN: Taking myself on dates! Whether it’s visiting my favorite bookstore or just having a cozy movie night at home, I want to prioritize self-love and being kind to myself in 2025.

— Brianna Goebel, Associate Editor & Sponsored Content Manager

OUT: Buying-slash-adopting more houseplants. Personal reminder: Plant babies deserve a good home, but it doesn’t always have to be MY home!

IN: Keeping the plants that I do have ALIVE.

— Anne Marie Hanna, Marketing Coordinator & Editorial Assistant

OUT: Overthinking, mindless spending, expecting too much of myself, fast fashion, and mindless scrolling on social media.

IN: Quality over quantity, daily vitamins, drinking more water, travel, belly laughs, and dirty martinis.

— Caroline Neely, Account Executive

OUT: Receiving sale alerts on my phone from favorite online stores, leading me to click and shop.

IN: Unsubscribing from those alerts and saving my money!

— Mary Breen, Web Designer

OUT: Reading the comments section on social media.

IN: Relearning to enjoy alone time. I really want to be able to go to a bar with a book or sit down at a restaurant by myself and not feel so weird about it.

— Robert Conklin, Digital Developer

OUT: Excuses for not making my health my #1 priority. If I’m not healthy, I can’t do anything else.

IN: Getting comfortable saying no in order to prioritize my health, both mental and physical.

— Liza Graves, Founder & CEO

OUT: Always have to be constantly distracted or consuming. For example: always walking with music or a podcast in my ears, immediately turning on the news in the morning, or hopping into a bubble bath with my Kindle.

IN: Sitting in silence and stillness, getting comfier being alone with my own thoughts, and participating in the moments happening around me. One way I plan on doing this is by going through the senses while on walks. What do I see, hear, smell, feel?

— Zoe Yarborough, Staff Writer

OUT: Taking everything so seriously.

IN: More laughter and music.

— Sarah Finklea, Sales Operations Manager

OUT: Drinking during the week.

IN: Planning tomorrow at the end of today.

– Jay Graves, COO

OUT: Snoozing my alarm. I feel best when I hop out of bed and get a run in before the day begins, but I spent too many mornings last year listing excuses to stay in bed. It’s always worth it to wake up early, and it sets you up for a positive, productive day! I’ll just have to work on turning my eyes away from my cute, warm puppy who loves to snuggle late into the morning!

IN: Budgeting. I am seeing this less as a thing “I have to do” and more of an opportunity to save up for and allocate funds to things I want to do, such as travel, fun luxury purchases, self-care experiences — and of course plan for the future, invest, and grow our savings long-term. I plan to get cute notebooks and pens to make this as fun as possible!

— Kate Feinberg, Associate Editor & Sponsored Content Specialist

OUT: Eating out and ordering in on weekdays.

IN: Cooking new, healthy, challenging recipes!

— Bailey Torkelson, Marketing Manager

OUT: Being long-winded — with both email and verbal communication. Trying to be more succinct!

IN: Cooking more at home, laughing more, and focusing on self-care.

— Melissa Thompson, Senior Account Executive & Travel Specialist

OUT: Being a slave to my checklist.

IN: Comfortable shoes, sweating it out in the sauna, and opening up “the good wine” just because.

— Alissa Harb, Managing Editor

OUT: A cluttered desk and saving every email and piece of paper “just in case.”

IN: More at-home cooking therapy and reading for fun.

— Jenna Bratcher, Associate Editor & Lead Nashville Writer

OUT: Solely focusing on distance running for exercise.

IN: Resistance training, a healthier diet, AND distance running. Hybrid athlete goals!

— Brandon Smith, Account Executive

OUT: Being addicted to my phone.

IN: Being more intentional in every area of my life.

— Amanda Stanfill, Account Executive & Travel Director

OUT: Fast food and gluten! I want to focus more on healthy eating habits and self-care.

IN: I am bringing back compression socks and pantyhose.

— Elise Ruttebur, Business Development & Partnership Coordinator

OUT: Scrolling on my phone before bed.

IN: Reading before bed instead!

— Madison Huskey, Digital Account Coordinator

OUT: Thinking about everyone else’s opinion about me.

IN: Appreciating myself and everyone who supports me.

— Raye Robrigado, Operations Manager

OUT: Too many sweets and sodas. Laziness on the weekends.

IN: Working two times harder than last year, exercising and balancing my diet, taking more time for my drawing hobby during the weekend, and traveling.

— Kaye Torralba, Email Assistant

Happy New Year! We hope you’re inspired to create your own “in” and “out” list for 2025!
