Today’s batch of fall-inspired recipes comes to us from our friends at Table & Thyme Event Catering in Birmingham, AL. Two are wildly versatile recipes that are great to keep on hand for enjoying at home and for gifting β spicy-sweet roasted pecans and homemade pumpkin syrup. The third is a crowd-pleasing (but deceptively simple) frozen treat infused with plenty of pumpkin goodness.
Dig in, and enjoy!
Pumpkin Syrup
Calling for only a handful of simple ingredients and a few minutes on the stove, this easy pumpkin syrup lasts for up to two weeks in the fridge. But we doubt it’ll last you that long β it’s simply too delicious! You can add a couple of spoonfuls of this syrup to your morning coffee, smoothies, yogurt bowls, pancakes, French toast, you name it. Just imagine drizzling it over a warm blondie and a scoop (or perhaps two) of your favorite vanilla ice cream …

Pumpkin Greek Yogurt Bark
With a base of Greek yogurt and pumpkin purΓ©e, this bark recipe is pretty much as easy as mix, spread, and freeze β and it’s easily customizable, too! The Greek yogurt and swirls of peanut butter offer a kick of protein, and it’s only lightly sweetened with natural ingredients like maple syrup and honey, so it works well either as a dessert or an afternoon snack. This variation calls for a granola topping, but you can experiment with any other toppings you love.

Spicy-Sweet Roasted Pecans
Particularly during the fall and winter months, spiced nuts are great for topping everything from salads, holiday casseroles, and roasted vegetables to baked goods. But these kinda-spicy, kinda-sweet pecans are also great for snacking. During this time of year, we particularly love to serve them piled onto our seasonal cheese and charcuterie boards.
The pecans are coated with a combination of butter, maple syrup, dark brown sugar, and cinnamon for cozy sweetness. The savoriness comes from a sprinkle of salt, and the kick of heat is thanks to the addition of cayenne pepper. Get the full recipe HERE.
SB Tip: It’s time to start thinking about holiday gifts, so it’s worth noting that both the roasted pecans and the pumpkin syrup make fabulous DIY gifts!
Both of these recipes could be prepped ahead of time and then gifted in a mason jar wrapped with a piece of festive ribbon. Don’t forget to include a holiday card with a handwritten note that offers up a few suggestions for use!
If you’re looking for something more elaborate, you could gift a bag of locally roasted coffee beans and a beautiful mug with your pumpkin syrup. As for the pecans, you could gift these along with some of your other favorite grazing board accoutrements β cheeses, cured meats, local honey, pickles, or jam. To make it even more special, throw in a nice cheese knife!
